What are fair & evenhanded biographies of Lincoln and Churchill?

Question by Dont Just Look At It, Eat It!: What are fair & evenhanded biographies of Lincoln and Churchill?

There a very many that of course glorify these men, and a few which dwell on their negative aspects, but I would like to read books that take the good and bad sides of these men seriously and aren't biased for or against.

Carl Sandburg's is still the definitive Lincoln biography. The newer ones, which quaintly question his sexuality, are less well researched than Sandburg.

I don't know an even-handed bio of Churchill, I think it is still too soon for a perspective on his life.
